Suwannee Stone Crab Festival Booth a Big Success

It was a gorgeous Florida day and many, many people came out to the Town of Suwannee for the Stone Crab Festival. The Friends Booth was packed most of the day. Our Acting Refuge Manager, Karen Hillier from Key Deer NWR spent the day with us, as well as Ranger Pam Darty. Friends members Carol and Bob McKinstry, Joyce Tarnow, Linda Headley, Russ and Peg Hall, Mark Gluckman, and Richard and Anne Herman set up, greeted all our visitors and talked to them about the Refuges, and then put it all back in the van for Pam to bring back home to headquarters. Even the fund raising did well...to the tune of $175 in tee-shirt, water bottle, and tick tool sales. Here are some photos of the team setting up, chatting before it really opened, enjoying the parade, and greeting the crowds.

  4. Just found your site. As a former resident of Old Town and Suwannee, it was great to see pix of the place my heart will always be. Such beauty to be found through out the LSWR. Keep up your good work, and could you send some crab, scallops and fresh fish this way, lol???
