Andrew Gude is our new Refuge Manager. He will arrive on September 25.
He brings a wide array of professional experience to our refuges, having previously worked as a fishery, wetlands, and wildlife biologist, commercial fisherman, diving instructor, vessel captain, fishing guide, environmental educator and project manager.
He is no stranger to Florida. He worked in both the Vero Beach Ecological Services office and the Florida Keys NWRs. He has served as the Ocean and Coastal Refuge Coordinator and has worked in Hawaii, Alaska, and the U.S. Pacific Islands. Currently, he is involved with a wide range of Fish and Wildlife Service policy issues, including National Ocean Policy and America's Great Outdoors.
